Do you remember your first experience with real chocolate? What was it?

Our first batch of chocolate for application was in our shop at South Melbourne Market; we made lemon myrtle chocolate for the board of the market and the chocolates were the top of the samples the market received.

Charles went to Vietnam in 2016, how did this trip shape Atypic Chocolate?

Charles was a pastry chef and chocolatier, he went to Vietnam with Jimmy’s family and the trip reborn our passion. We love the cacao pod, cacao bean and tried to bring the beans from different parts of the world to start an Atypic journey. Atypic means something unique and unusual, Atypic is trying to deliver our unique handcrafted chocolates with an unusual making process.

Our friends, our team, our passions, and our dream

How did you end up in the world of craft chocolate? What did you do before?

We love cacao, we want to deliver real chocolate to people around the world. It is hard, but we love what we do, we will continue to deliver the Atypic concept to everyone who loves chocolate.

Why did you decide to use only Pacific Cacao?

Atypic is in Australia, we meet lots of Island people, and we are trying to support the Islands' economy and promote the great raw produce from the islands.

What is your favourite chocolate pairing? 

Cognac with 88% nibs.

What does the future hold for Atypic Chocolates?

We are aiming at the global bean to bar chocolate market. We want to be sold at chocolate shops around the world and increase our brand awareness every day.
