Manoa est un chocolatier hawaïen. Hawaï est le seul État des États-Unis à cultiver du cacao. L'histoire de ce fabricant a commencé dans les laboratoires de l'Université d'Hawaï en 2010, étudiant le cacao comme culture pour l'État. Manoa a commencé comme étudiante sans argent et a lancé son entreprise avec ingéniosité et détermination.

Le cacao hawaïen de cette barre de chocolat d'origine unique provient de Mililani Estate dans le centre d'Oahu. Cette ferme diversifiée de 97 acres accueille des cultures d'arbres à pain, de bananes, d'avocats, de taro et 10 acres de cacao. Leur toute première récolte de cacao a eu lieu fin 2019 alors que les arbres avaient trois ans. Le chocolat produit à partir de ce domaine est l'un des plus brillants et fruités que Manoa ait jamais fabriqués. Après seulement quelques mois de disponibilité, cette barre a remporté de nombreux prix, dont l'or du meilleur chocolat noir aux prestigieux Chocolate Alliance Awards.

Phenomenal, a virtual assault of flavors

I had a tasting recently with 10 different 70% single-source chocolate bars. As always, there are different favorites, but by far this was acclaimed the best.
As you put the bite in your mouth, it begins: an array of lovely smells that become tastes, an almost overwhelming variety of flavors. If you like one-note chocolates, this is not for you. One taster asked, "is there alcohol in that?" and another replied, "it reminds me of my finest sipping whiskey."

If I had another couple of bars, I might be able to paint a flavor profile for you; suffice to say, it's terrific and I'm about to order several more.
